Circuit Benders Ball 2021

Circuit Benders' Ball combines art, music, and love for dismantling things, using hard/software and modular pieces to make something novel and beautful! It brings together people from the South and abroad, and celebrates the non-traditional. In the past, CBB has been a ticketed event to cover venue costs. This year, we're offering a free option because we feel no one should be barred from learning and experiencing new things, especially music, art, and electronics. The other tickets are essentially "pay what you feel". You get the same thing no matter what you choose. There is no VIP level.

*Producer's Note* The issue of price versus access is a fine line to walk. Something as radical as taking trash or unwanted toys and turning them into art, the essence of CBB, fundamentally subverts norms and we celebrate that. We wrestle with commodity capitalism and industry at large; seeing mainstream festivals reach higher price levels but also needing to cover costs of producing a high quality event. We also want to pay our artists, they have been sidelined from tours, recording projects, workshops, and meetups from the pandemic. We want to uplift and recognize what they do in such a niche space is valued and supported. After discussing it amongst the performers we decided this approach was the best way to go.
